One of my favourite hip hop groups from the 90's is Pharcyde (though I didn't get into them until long after the initial line-up split). This is the original 4 members of the group. The yellow suits and the blue starry night are based on the cover for their Labcabincalifornia album.

Lauryn Hill

This was actually the second attempt at trying to get Ms. Hill's likeness. The blue colour scheme was inspired by the video for her song Ex-Factor.

Maynard James Keenan

Here's another portrait of a musical artist whose work I truly admire. I always loved the way Maynard use to paint his body when her performed with Tool. He had a few different looks but this half blue half white was easily my favourite.

Kurt Cobain

I've always wanted to do a picture of Kurt Cobain in his iconic Teen Spirit striped shirt. I visited the EMP museum in Seattle a few years ago and got to see it in person. It was pretty cool.

A Tribe Called Quest

Working out the colours on this piece was a challenge. I wanted to incorporate the group's trademark red, black and green but still have the image look good. I also played around with making Q-Tip's hat green but it ended up looking too much like Mario and Luigi so it's the only thing that strayed from the colour theme.

This Debbie Harry portrait was a really fun piece to work on. Like my Robert Smith illustration, this was done with a mix of pencil, ink and digital.

The Cure

This is a quick illustration I did of Robert Smith from 80's band, The Cure. The most fun part was drawing his hair. I played around with adding light to it but I liked the look of the graphic, flat black better.

The Fox Maiden

Japanese woodblock prints are one of my favourite things to look at. I've done a few pieces in the past that have been inspired by them and this one is my latest one. This was done mostly with acrylic inks with touches of metallic paint and acrylic paint.

Legendary Lobster Lady

This was done in acrylic and was part of the Mythozoology artshow I was in. You can make anything sound mythical is you add the word "legendary" in front of it.
